We were fortunate to have about 30 members of the Cranberry Noon Rotary Club, the Cranberry Sunrise Rotary Club, the SV Interact Club, and family and friends who planted approximately 113 trees along Brush Creek Trail in the township on April 14, 2018. Rebecca Auchter, Cranberry Township grounds manager, assisted us as we planted a variety of trees, including flowering Dogwoods, Pin Oaks and Red Maples. The Tree Planting project was part of a larger Rotary District 7280 project in celebration of the birth of Rotary 113 years ago.  The Tree Planting is tied into Earth Day because it is in response to a request by Rotary District 7280 Governor Judith Hughes which specified that the Club was asked to plant a tree for each member by April 20, Earth Day.  DG Judy Hughes was in support of Rotary International President Ian Risley's request that each Rotary Club worldwide would plant a tree for every member during his year as R. I President so our effort was part of a worldwide effort of Rotary International.
